Anyone who has ever heard Fee live knows that Matt Adkins is a beast on guitar. He makes sounds come out of a guitar amp that certainly shouldn’t come from there. I’ve been waiting on doing Matt’s Gear Talk because his pedalboard has changed significantly from the last time I saw him live in the fall.
Matt just posted a blog on his gear over at the Fee Band Blog, but I thought I’d post it here as well.

- Barber Tone Press Compressor
- & What (Matt’s homemade dirt pedal)
- VooDoo Lab Sparkle Drive
- Boss TU-2 Tuner
- Orignal Crybaby Wah
- Boss RV-5 Reverb
- Boss DD-20 Giga Delay
- Keeley Modded Line 6 DL4 (with expression pedal)
- Electro Harmonics POG
- Fulltone Supa Trem
I don’t think of these pedals really need an explanation, but feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions. Matt typically runs through a Bad Cat Amp and plays a Gibson Goldtop Les Paul, Fender Telecaster Deluxe or Gretsch G6118T.

Love the bands sound and always wondered about the amps. Bad Cat huh? no wonder they sound good. Those are a wee bit pricey. In my next life I will have a Matchless and a Bad Cat!
Any idea what badcat it is?
he was using a hot cat 15 or 30 i think…he’s endorsed by them and has a few.
Did Matt play for Carlos Whittaker on the Jeremy Camp tour? http://www.mobypicture.com/user/loswhit/view/7672163 What he up to now-a-days?
I have a Boss BD-2 and a Pro Co Rat 2. I’ve heard a lot of great things about keeley mods for these pedals. I use the bd-2 for light od and the rat for distortion and leads. Do you know anything about the keeley mods? Are they worth it or are the stock settings better for what i am using them for? Thanks.
