What is there to be sad about when it comes to summer, right? I realized this weekend that I leave next Monday morning for my first camp of the summer. With the exception of being home for a few hours before the second camp, I’ll be gone for about two weeks. The first leg is Panama City, Florida (with Chris Coleman), Talladega, Alabama and Glorietta, New Mexico (with Chris Orr).
I guess I should be thankful that I have a few weeks off, but it will be weird to go hard for a few weeks, then back off for a few and then go hard again (reminds me of the intervals we used to run in track and cross country). One thing that has been awful is figuring out that I have a week to get done the things I need to get done. The worst part is finding out all the things I have to buy to get ready for the summer (new suitcase, new clothes, strings, cables, smaller pedalboard, etc…) and having to pay for it all.
I’m really looking forward to summer and traveling and playing, but also to get past having to spend all this money.
