Gear Talk – Mark Waldrop

The other guitarist from David Crowder Band is Mark. Mark plays through a few different PRS guitars, an Anderson guitar, Fender Tele and a Rickenbacker and runs them through a Bad Cat Lynx, Bad Cat Black Cat or an Vox AC30 Custom Classic (newer ones).

Here’s the board he used on the Church Music Tour:

  • Keeley Mellow Wah
  • Fulltone Fulldrive 2
  • Zvex Box of Rock
  • Zvex Super Duper
  • Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor
  • Boss TR-2 Tremolo
  • Boss PS-5 Super Shifter
  • Boss Volume w/ tuner out
  • Boss DD-20 Giga Delay
  • Boss RV-3 Reverb
  • Eventide Timefactor
  • Boss LS-2 Line Selector (used to switch between the amps)

The footswitch in the top left corner is a controller and tap for the Timefactor and DD-20. The extra Boss tuner and DI in the top right corner are used for something special during the show using his iPhone.

  1. Nice..Could you post Kristian Stanfill’s lead guitarist pedalboard..the dude has really cool riffs..love the the “Attention” album..thanks!

  2. Rapha, Alex Nifong’s board is already up on the site (Whammy, TU-2, BD-2, DD-5, DL4.

And the other guitarist (Matt Melton) uses a Digitech EX7, JHV3 Clean Boost, JHV3 Mod TS9, DD-5, and DD-20.

Kristian plays rhythm electric now live. And the only thing I know is that he uses a new Reverend electric and possibly a CmatMods Brownie.

  3. Nathan,

Its cool to hear these guys playing Anderson guitars…especially since i hear Tom Anderson is a Christian and plays in his local church. My question pertains to the Anderson electrics: did it seem that the Crowder guys were using more of the single-coil andersons, like his versions of strats and telecasters….or were they humbuckers (Cobra and Cobra S guitars)? I was curious if you remembered. Anderson’s humbucker pickups are very hot…meaner than most historic les pauls. i’m considering getting an anderson but was concerned that his humbuckers might be a little too hot and heavy…which is not bad at times. but he makes a mean tap-coil too. anyways, thanks for your posts. i enjoy your site.

    • not sure man…i just saw them a few days ago, but didn’t think to look. the other guitarist (jack) looks like he uses a les paul style anderson and that would be my guess for mark as well.

      thanks for stopping by!
